Titans Stun UC Davis in Final Seconds

Bailey Nunn hit a game-winning three pointer with 19 seconds remaining to take down the UC Davis Aggies 93-92 at home.

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Fullerton Titans took down the UC Davis Aggies in the final seconds of Thursday night's Titan Gym thriller. After trailing by 14 at the half and chasing the Aggies for 38 minutes and 40 seconds, Bailey Nunn and the Titans shut down the Aggies 93-92.

Fullerton started the game trailing by eight before Landon Seaman, who had a standout night, posted his first three-pointer against UC Davis. The Titans posted buckets here and there, but the Aggies were more consistent in the first half, leading 50-36, going into halftime.

The Titans logged a 52% field goal percentage in the first half and hit five of their 14 attempted shots from beyond the arc. The Aggies had more success at the three-point line, going 10 for 19, leading to their first half success. In his first start as a Titan, Seaman led with 17 points, five rebounds and one assist in the first half.

In the second half, the Titans went on an early seven-point run to bring Fullerton within seven, with 15 minutes left. UC Davis followed with their own seven-point run, giving them another gap of 13 points with eight minutes to play.

At the 2:27 mark, CSF had cut down on the Aggies lead to just two points. The Aggies followed with a three-point shot, but so did KJ Garris to bring it back down to two. With a minute and 30 seconds left, UC Davis nabbed a basket followed by a foul, sending Josh Ward to the line. Ward made both shots, setting the Titans up for a big moment to come.

Titan Gym was amped up when Bailey Nunn got the ball, faked it to throw off the defender, and perfectly shot from beyond the arc to give the Titans their first lead of the game. Fullerton protected the ball for the final seconds, running away with a 93-92 win at home.

CSF made a major improvement, shooting 71% in the second half, posting another five three-pointers and netting 12 of their 13 attempted free throws. Ward led the Titans in the second half with 18 points.

Seaman led the team with a season-best 26 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a block. Ward was right behind with 18 points, three rebounds and four assists. The man of the hour, Nunn, went three for four at the three-point line and tallied 11 points on the night while leading the team with five assists.

As the regular season nears the end and the standings get tight, the Titans are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 pm at Cal State Bakersfield.
