La Jolla, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton Titans took down the UC San Diego Tritons in La Jolla on Thursday evening. Fullerton logged season highs in many categories against the Tritons and
Christian Williams led the team with a season-high six three-pointers.

The Titans were off to a slow start, trailing by 10, eight minutes into the game, but they were quick to make a comeback, eventually leading to a their first conference win on the road. Fullerton began to chop down on UCSD's lead, but the Tritons held on to their 10-point lead through more than half of the first half. The Titans posted six in a row to begin their comeback, but the Tritons hadn't given up yet. CSF then went on to score 10 unanswered points to close out the first half with a 35-32 lead. Â

Fullerton shot 35% from the floor and 37% from beyond the arc. The Titans only had two turnovers in the first half while the Tritons had 10. CSF capitalized on UCSD's mistakes and nabbed nine points off of turnovers. Williams and
Landon Seaman each tallied eight in the first half and recorded at least one steal.

The Titans opened the second half with a lead and held onto it for the entire half. Fullerton began the half with a seven-point run followed by a game-high 10 point run to put the Titans up by 14 and eventually led to a 20-point lead, 78-58 with six minutes to go.

CSF was on fire at the three-point line, nailing nine of their 13 attempts from beyond the arc, shooting 69%. Williams led with four in the second half. Fullerton's 51% shooting percentage from behind the arc was a season high for the Titans.

The Titans' shooting percentage improved to 70% in the second half, leading to their 88-71 victory over the UC San Diego Tritons. In the latter half, Fullerton had four turnovers but made up for them by tallying 16 points on the Tritons' seven turnovers.

Williams dropped a season-high 22 points on the Tritons; 18 from behind the arc. The freshman also led with three steals.
Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro logged 12 points, four rebounds and a team-high six assists on Thursday.
Bryce Cofield also tallied 12 points, four assists and led with six rebounds. Seaman and
Joshua Ward were the final two Titans to nab double-digit points.

The Titans are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 4 p.m. when the Cal State Northridge Matadors come to visit at Titan Gym.
