FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team fell in their home opener 4-0 to the LMU Lions on Friday afternoon at the Titan Courts.

The Titans fell to 1-1 on the season and the Lions improved to 2-2 on the year.

The Titans started the match down 1-0 after dropping the doubles point.  All three sides doubles pairings were down a few games before they all started gradually coming back into the match.  However, the Lions were able to clinch the doubles point after winning In No.3 and No. 1 doubles. 

In singles to start, five of the six courts saw the Titans down a few games in the first set.  Amelia Zylberman was the only Titan on Court. 4 to take the first set over her opponent.  Martina Markov battled back from a 5-1 hole on Court Number 3 to take a 6-5 lead after winning five straight games.  But she eventually fell lost the first set tiebreak to her opponent. 

The Lions were able to clinch the match after quick wins on Courts 5 and 6 and sealed the match after winning on Court 2 in straight sets.

The Titans will host Grand Canyon on Sunday. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. at the Titan Courts.
