USAFA, Colo. – The Fullerton Men's Water Polo team faced UC Merced and McKendree on day two of the Rare Air Challenge and absolutely dominated both teams. The Titans scored a total of 43 goals on Sunday and freshman,
Luke Vargas, led the Titans with nine goals on the day.
The Titans were close to rewriting the record books in two different categories as their 14 assists in game one was one less than the current record and their 24 goals in game two were one short of the 25 in the books.
Titans 19, UC Merced 7
The Titans kicked off their successful Sunday with a 19-7 win against the UC Merced Bobcats. For the second day in a row, 10 different Titans scored a goal in the first big win of the day.
The first half of the game was evenly matched as the first quarter ended in a 2-2 tie and the Titans wrapped up the first half with a 7-6 lead.
Nico D'Angelo led the half with two goals and five other Titans contributed to the first half lead.
UC Merced opened the second half with the game-tying goal before the Fullerton Titans took charge and ran away with a big win. CSF went on to score 12 unanswered goals to finalize the 19-7 win against the Bobcats.

Jacob Hatch logged a hat trick on Sunday morning.
Alec Isaacman, D'Angelo,
Carmelo Bangs and
Andrew Barnuevo all tacked on a pair of goals each.
Ethan MacLeod,
Togan Ozbek,
Samuel Branco and
Francesco Schiaffino put one in the cage to contribute to the teams 19 goals on Sunday morning.
Noah Stark got the start in the cage as he recorded five saves in the first half.
Cy Hammerstrom entered the game at the start of the second half and stopped one from going past him.
Titans 24, McKendree 9
The Titans ended game one with 12 consecutive goals and opened game two with 14 consecutive goals. The Titans owned the McKendree Bearcats in the first half as they put 14 unanswered goals on the board.
Vargas kept his hot streak going into game two as he scored four in the first half. Barnuevo and Branco both put up a pair of goals in the second quarter to join in on the multi-goal first half.
The Bearcats finally made their way to the cage as they scored first in the second half, but the Titans were unstoppable as they went on to score ten more for a final score of 24-9.
Julian Nichols led Fullerton with 5 of the Titans' 11 assists.
Ethan Ivey and Stark split time in the goal while recording a total of nine saves.
