Titans Cross Country Shows Out at UCR Invite

The Titans Cross Country team competed at the UCR Invite on Saturday morning with the men finishing in sixth and the women in 15th.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The Fullerton Titans were back in action at the UCR Invite on Saturday morning. A total of 18 Titans competed in the invite races, while three competed in the women's open race. The men's team finished sixth of 24 while the women's team finished 15th of 24.
 
Shandy Moore led the 10 Titans with her time of 21:26.5 in the women's 6k. Justin Singer and seven other men ran in the men's 8k with three finishing in the top 50. Grace Toriz, Kalei Aoki-Chance and Lexi Cilley also ran in the women's open 5k.
 
Justin Singer was the first of seven Titans to cross the finish line in the men's race at 24:22.4 in 26th.  Nathaniel Avila and Matthew Kubler finished in 35th and 40th. Kubler set a personal-best with a time of 24:35.8. Luke Hitchcock, Jacob Brown, Dylan Jubak, Carlos Maradiaga, and Diego Mejia also ran in the men's run, contributing to the men's sixth place finish.
 
Shandy Moore's finish on Saturday was a personal-best and led the Titans who competed in the women's 6k.  Makena Oliva, Quinn Roldan, and Cassandra Apahidean also recorded personal-records on Saturday morning. Caitlyn Cilley, Barbora Svobodova and Fiona Holloway all competed in their first ever collegiate race. Grace Toriz, Kalei Aoki-Chance and Lexi Cilley competed in the women's open 5k with Toriz leading with a time of 18:24.4.

The Titans are back in action on October 18th right back at UCR for the UCR Highlander Invitational.
