FULLERTON, Calif. – Over the weekend, Bella Smith and the Titans hosted the Mark Covert Classic. Smith finished atop 77 athletes in the women's 6k race in front of her home crowd.
 
Smith recorded a personal-best time of 20:35.0 on Saturday as well as her first collegiate gold. The senior from Murrieta, California headlined the event, crossing the finish line 28 seconds ahead of the trailing runners on Saturday.
 
Smith's time at the Mark Covert Classic replaced her previous personal-best time of 21:03.0 which was recorded at the UCR Cross Country Invitational last season.
 
Smith and the Titans are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 27 as they compete at the UCR Invite.
