Isaac Ranson Named Defensive Player of the Week

BIG WEST RELEASE

IRVINE, Calif. - It was announced on Monday by the conference that Redshirt Senior goalkeeper Isaac Ranson was named the Big West Women's Soccer defensive player of the week for the first week of the season.

The Titans only official game for the weekend came on Sunday against a receiving votes California Golden Bears team.  The Titans defense faced 20 shots from the Golden Bears with only five of them on frame.  Isaac Ranson was there to make all five saves to preserve the shutout. In the Titans match that was abandoned on Thursday at Florida Gulf Coast, the Eagles only had one shot but no official statistics were recorded for that game.

This is the seventh weekly honors that the goalkeeper has won during their tenure at Fullerton and their sixth defensive player of the week honor.

The goalkeeper is slowly approaching the summit of two major goalkeeper records in Titans women's soccer history.  Isaac has now made 286 career saves and got the 19th shutout of their career.  Karen Bardsley is the Titans all-time leader in saves with 312 and shutouts in 26.

The Titans head to the University of Portland on Thursday before coming home to host UTEP on Sunday.
