FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 0-0 draw against the (RV) California Golden Bears at Titan Stadium.

After flying back across the country on Friday from Florida after playing only 16 minutes in a canceled game, the Titans had less than ideal conditions to prepare for Sunday's match against the Golden Bears.  The shot counter was in favor of Cal at a 20-3 clip, but they only had five shots on goal to the Titans one shot on goal. Most of Cal's shots were blocked or deflected by the stout Titan defense led by Taya Townsell on the back line.

The Titans actually put the ball in the back of the net in the 16th minute after a corner kick opportunity as Camryn Cruz buried a ball into the net on a great header but it was waived off for offsides.

Cal outshot the Titans 13-to-1 in the first half but the second half was much more closer with it being a 7-2 advantage.  Isaac Ranson made all four of their five saves in the first half.

The Titans were able to hand debuts to four players as Camryn Cruz, Jenna Rivera, and Kayalily Penn were all in the starting lineup. Sienna Pimentel played 30 minutes off the bench in their NCAA debut.

The Titans head to Portland on Thursday where they will take on the Portland Pilots.  Kick-off is set for 7:00 PM at  Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.
