Giacomo Comerio and
Will Tanaka earned Big West accolades after leading the Titans to a second-place finish at The Big West Championship, the conference announced Tuesday.Â
Andrews earned Big West First Team All-Conference for the second straight season. This season, he led the Titans in nine of their 11 tournaments, including their first-place finish at the Orange County Classic, and their second-place finish at The Big West Championship. Overall, Andrews averaged 70.5 strokes, shooting a season-low 66 in three rounds.Â
Andrews was crowned Co-Champion at the GCU Invitational after a 6-hole playoff against Grand Canyon's Tommaso Zoretto, where he shot 9-under par 204. The redshirt senior was selected as the No. 4 seed out of the five individuals chosen to compete in the NCAA Reno Regional May 12-14.Â
Comerio and Tanaka both received Honorable Mentions by the conference in their first season with the Titans. Comerio posted a 73.9 stroke average across nine tournaments, while Tanaka saw all 33 rounds of play in the starting five with a 73.7 stroke average.Â
The two first-time award recipients set new career-best tournament finishes at The Big West Championship after tying for fifth place with Andrews, who shot 5-under par 211. This marked the second top 10 finish by Comerio and Tanaka.Â
