FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's water polo team were defeated 11-8 Saturday afternoon against UCSB at Fullerton College Pool.

The Titans had four goalscorers as Destiny Hernandez, Hannah Wilson, Taylor Mason and Emme Doube-MacLeod all found the back of the net.  Doube-MacLeod scored four goals, three of which came in the third period, and Hernandez put the ball in the cage twice in the first half. Annabelle Sherman also had a solid game with 11 saves for Fullerton.

The Titans came out early and matched UCSB's physicality from the opening sprint. After going down 2-0 in the first quarter, Cal State Fullerton kept their composure in the second which allowed them to tie the game at four with 1:23 remaining in the opening half behind Doube-MacLeod's first goal of the match. 

The Guachos found two late goals before time expired to go into the intermission up 6-4.

The Titans seemed to have made key adjustments as they struck first in the second half with Mason scoring with 7:14 left in the third period.

UCSB responded with three straight goals to extend their lead to 9-5.

With their back to the wall, Doube-MacLeod scored the Titans final three goals of the match in the third period, but it was not enough to propel Cal State Fullerton past UCSB as they eventually fell 11-8.   

The Titans will be back in action next Sunday, April 13th at the Fullerton College Pool for senior day against the University of Hawai'i.
