Levingston Scores Career High in the Season Finale Loss at Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's basketball team lost 61-51 in their 2024-25 season finale against UC Riverside on Saturday at the SRC Arena.

With the Titans top scorer and No. 3 leader in the Big West, Aaliyah Stanton out with a broken finger, the Titans were led by the underclassmen duo of Eva Levingston and Jana Falsdottir.  Eva Levingston scored a new career high 17 points.  In just the third start of her career, Jana Falsdottir scored 14 points.  Aixchel Hernandez finished her collegiate career just shy of a double-double after scoring 8 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.   The Titans shot a little better than the Highlanders after shooting 39.2% from the floor to the Highlanders 37.9%.  However, the Titans went 1-for-8 from beyond the arc and Highlanders went 4-for-20.  The Highlands outrebounded the Titans 39-to-29 including 14 offensive boards to the Titans seven.

Jana Falsdottir got the scoring started for the Titans as the Titans assisted nearly every field goal to start the game.

After the Highlanders pulled away a bit, the Titans tied the game at 9-9.

The Highlanders 15-12 after the first quarter of play.

The Titans took an early lead to start the second quarter after going on a 8-5 run to start the quarter.

The Highlanders made two baskets during the final two minutes to open up a 28-23 lead heading into halftime.

Levingston did a lot of the heavy lifting for the Titans in the 3rd quarter as she scored 9 of the Titans 13 points during the quarter.

The Highlanders stretched their lead to 11 points before Levingston hit a jumper to bring the lead back under double digits as the Highlanders led 45-36 at the end of the third quarter.

The Titans continued to hang around the Highlanders during the fourth quarter as they cut the UCR lead down to 5 points with 3:38 left after layups from Levingston and Madelynn Muniz.

However, the Highlanders went on a 10-2 run to pull away from the Titans during the final three minutes of play.

The Titans finished the season with a 7-23 overall record and 5-15 record in conference play.  They played some of their basketball of the season from late January to Mid-February as they went 5-1 during that frame but they couldn't maintain it and went 0-5 during the final stretch of the season. The Titans had two seniors who will graduate in Aixchel Hernandez and Emily Strachan. The Titans will have a lot to build on as six of the Titans regulars were underclassmen with four of them being freshman.  Two of their top scorers were sophomores in Aaliyah Stanton (14.3 PPG) and Eva Levingston (8.0 PPG, 8.0 RPG).
