FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Baseball is well represented on MLB Opening Day with four players on opening day rosters along with four coaches. 

Tanner Bibee is entering his third season with the Cleveland Guardians and second full season with the big league squad. Bibee was recently named the opening day starter and signed a contract extension with the club on Mar. 22. 

Five-time Gold Glove winner, Matt Chapman, is entering his ninth season and second with the San Francisco Giants. In his first season with the Giants, Chapman earned his fifth career Gold Glove at the hot corner. 

After acquiring him at the trade deadline last season, the Kansas City Royals brought back Michael Lorenzen this offseason. Lorenzen had a 7-6 record with a 3.31 ERA last season with the Texas Rangers and Royals. 

Justin Turner is in his 17th season in MLB and his first season with the Chicago Cubs. Turner joined the Cubs this offseason after spending the 2024 season with Toronto and Seattle. 

On the coaching side, Mark Kotsay is entering his fourth season as the manager of the Oakland A's. Kotsay signed a four-year contract extension with Oakland in February. 

Dustin Garneau, Mike Harkey and Matt Wise also represent the Titans on MLB coaching staffs. Garneau is entering his first season as the bullpen coach for the Rockies after being added to the staff in Oct. 2024. Harkey serves as the bullpen coach for the New York Yankees where he has been since 2016. Wise made a move to the Chicago White Sox prior to the 2024 season where he serves as the assistant pitching coach.
