FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton men's basketball team was defeated 65-49 by UC Davis Saturday night at Titan Gym. The Titans fall to 6-19 on the year and 1-11 in conference play.
Senior Zachary Visentin led the way for the Titans with a career-high 17 points on an impressive 6-of-9 from the floor.. Visentin also contributed 3 blocks in an efficient 16 minutes of play.Â
Visentin started his night with an early jumper that gave the Titans a 4-2 lead early in the first half, but the Titans struggled from there, only shooting 23 percent from the field in the first half.Â
Although their shots weren't dropping, the aggressive play of Visentin and Kaleb Brown led to a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in the first half for the Titans which kept the team within striking distance, trailing 34-23 at the half.Â
The Titans opened up the second half by trading buckets but turnovers were too much to overcome as the UC Davis Aggies pushed the lead to 21 with 13:20 remaining in the second. The Titans continued to cut into the lead that was capped off with a big dunk from Visentin. However, it was too little too late.Â
The Titans are back in action at Titan Gym next Thursday against Cal Poly at 7:00 p.m.
