FULLERTON, Calif.– The Cal State Fullerton Men's Basketball team opened their 2025 slate with a huge win over the Caltech Beavers. The Titans shut down the Beavers by a score of 136-82. The Titans' 136 points scored against the Beavers set a record for most points scored in a single game. The previous record was scored in 1972 against Chapman, when the Titans tallied 128 points.
Fullerton began their impressive night with
Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro nailing a three-pointer followed by a dunk to put the Titans up by five. The Beavers eventually took a 6-5 lead before the Titans got hot and became unstoppable, maintaining a lead for the remainder of the game. CSF led 65-44 after the first half.
The Titans impressed the crowd as they logged a 59% shooting percentage in the first half and netted nine from the arc. CSF capitalized on the Beavers mistakes as they tallied 20 points off turnovers.
At the half,
Jaden Henderson led the team with 16 points, all from the three-point arc.
Joshua Ward and
Ben Winker each had four rebounds in the first as the team succeeded off of rebounds, nabbing nine second chance points in the first.
In the second half, the Titans continued to dominate on the court as they outscored Caltech 71 to 38 in the second half.
KJ Garris popsted 14 points after coming off the bench in the second half. As a team, the Fullerton bench scored 49 of the 71 second half points. Garris also led CSF with seven rebounds.
The Titans did not change much after the first half as they cashed in another 23 points off of Beavers turnovers and tallied 12 second chance points. In the final half of Monday night's game, the Titans went on a 20-point unanswered run which was the longest of the game.
Henderson led the Titans with 25 points and nailed five of his seven three-point attempts. Garris was right behind Henderson with 22 points and led the team with eight rebounds and five steals.

Bailey Nunn and
Joshua Ward each scored in double digit figures.
The Titans are on the road this weekend as they head to Wyoming on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. PST.
