FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans returned home on Saturday afternoon to host the Pepperdine Waves. Fullerton played hard and showed what their made of in the 83-69 victory at Titan Gym.
Joshua Ward and
Landon Seaman led the team with double digit points in the win on Saturday.
The first half was full of excitement as the Titans and Waves traded for the lead five different times. About halfway through the first half, Seaman kicked off an eight-point scoring run, their strongest run of the half. By the end of their run, the Titans had a 27-23 lead that they eventually built on.
The Titans led 40-33 at the end of the first half. Ward led the team with nine points while
Christian Williams and Seaman were right behind with eight points each in the first half. Fullerton led Pepperdine in first half points from turnovers, paint, second chances and fast breaks.
CSF headed into half time with the mindset of getting the job done. They entered the second half with a lead and held onto it to shut down the Pepperdine Waves.
The two teams traded points back and forth throughout the whole second half, but Fullerton had Titan Gym rocking when they nailed three consecutive three pointers for a 16-point lead over the Waves.
Davis White started and finished the rhythm while Seaman hopped in for some action behind the arc. Fullerton went on to continuously find the basket, leading them to their third victory of the season.
Fullerton led in multiple categories regarding points again as they led 9-2 in points from turnovers, 26-10 in the paint, 7-2 in second chances and 24-8 off the bench. After shooting 44% in the first half, they improved to 51% in the second half for a 47% shooting average against Pepperdine.
Ward dropped 10 points in the second half to lead the team with 19 points on the night. Seaman was up there as well with 17 points against the Waves and he led the team with his eight rebounds.
The Titans are in Titan Gym again on Thursday, Dec. 4 when they host Cal Poly for the first Big West matchup of the season at 7 p.m.
