Seaman Shines in Homecoming, but Titans Fall 93-65 at Cal

Landon Seaman’s homecoming effort leads the Titans in loss at Cal.

Berkeley, Calif. – The Titans closed out their first road trip of the season at Haas Pavilion on Monday night. Landon Seaman led the Titans, keeping them within reach of the California Golden Bears in the first half, but Cal slipped away in the second half with a 93-65 victory.

Bay Area native, Landon Seaman, led the team with 20 points and two blocks. The graduate student was 9-for-14 in the paint and netted one from behind the arc in his homecoming. Coming off the bench, he led the team recording 10 of Fullerton's 27 first half points.

Although CSF's offense had a slow start, their defense did not allow Cal to score more than six unanswered points in the first half of the game. Fullerton and Cal's shooting percentages were very close, but Cal ended up with a lead at the break thanks to their 35% shooting percentage behind the arc. The Golden Bears led 42-27 at halftime.

In the second half, Seaman dropped another 10 points in front of his friends and family. KJ Garris and Kendrick De Luna tallied six points each in the Titans second half effort. Fullerton improved their shooting percentage to 42% in the second half and 33% beyond the arc, but the Golden Bears did not back down.

The Titans outscored Cal in points in the paint (38-28) and points off the bench (33-17), but Cal capitalized on CSF's 14 turnovers during the game, which translated to 21 points towards Cal's name.

Seaman represented his new team well in his homecoming to the Bay Area with 20 points, two blocks, an assist and four rebounds. Joshua Ward also had an impressive showing against Cal with 12 points, a block, two assists and led the team with eight rebounds.

The Titans are back at Titan Gym on Saturday, Nov. 10 against Pacific at 2 p.m.
