FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Baseball held its annual Dinner with the Titans Fundraiser Friday, Jan. 24 at the Hotel Fera Anaheim. More than 500 people were in attendance as former Titan and San Francisco Giants' third baseman, Matt Chapman, delivered an inspiring speech. 

"Cal State Fullerton holds such a special place in my heart. It's where I grew as a person, where I became the player I am today, and where I learned what it truly means to be a Titan," Chapman said. "I've played professional baseball for over 10 years and been a part of three different organizations but none of them define who I am. I will always be a Titan."

Joined by a crowd of current players, coaches, friends, family and alumni, Chapman donated $50,000 to the program, helping Titans Baseball raise more than $257,000, the most at Dinner with the Titans since 2016.

"Giving your time to this program is crucial for its survival. Even if you're not playing anymore, your presence and your stories matter. The memories, personalities, and experiences you share from your time here help this program thrive. That's how players learn what it truly means to be a Titan and how they can embody that," Chapman said. "We're all in this together. If we make an effort, myself included, to give back some of our time, it will make a difference. Titan Baseball needs to thrive forever and we can all play a part in making this happen."

The 2025 Titans look to carry Chapman's message with them into this season which opens with a four-game series beginning on Feb. 14 at Goodwin Field against Stanford.
