FULLERTON, Calif. -Â The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team defeated Cal Poly 1-0 at home on Sunday afternoon at Titan Stadium in their Big West Conference Home Opener.
The Titans (3-7-2, 1-1-1 BWC) picked up their first win in over a month with the victory over the Mustangs. Last season, the Titans defeated Cal Poly 2-1 on the road to kick start their run to the regular season Big West title.Â
Kaylee Noble scored her team leading fifth goal of the season in the 15th minute. She has scored in back-to-back games after scoring on Thursday against the Aggies.
The Titans started the game aggressively with four shots before scoring in the 15th minute. They outshot the Mustangs 12-to-3 in the first half and 23-to-15 for the game.
After a dominant first half for the Titans, Cal Poly were the aggressors to start the second half as they outshot the Titans 8-to-1 for the first 25 minutes of the second half. The Titans then gained momentum as they outshot the Mustangs 10-to-4 during the final 20 minutes.  Mackenzie Samuel made six of her 10 saves for the game during those final twenty minutes as the Titans looked to score the dagger goal. Â
Ranson made two saves for the game to officially move into second place all time with 247 career saves. The Titans goalkeeper also picked up their second clean sheet of the season and the 15th shutout of their career.Â
The Titans will remain at home on Thursday when they take on UC Riverside. Kick-off is set for 7:00 PM at Titan Stadium.
