Game Recap: Men's Water Polo |

Titans Defeat Redlands, Biola at Home

FULLERTON, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton men's water polo defeated Redlands, 10-9, and Biola, 13-8, at home Saturday as part of the Fullerton Mini Tournament. The results improve the Titans' record to 6-8 on the season. 

Titans 10, Redlands 9

Nico D'Angelo led Fullerton against the Bulldogs with three goals, a pair of assists and a steal, while Dominic Hernandez added two goals. Garrett Henderson tallied 10 saves and a steal in goal. 

Fullerton got out to a quick 4-1 start behind a pair of goals from Hernandez. The Titans extended their lead to four, 7-3, late in the second half after Bo Brown scored his first career goal and Francisco Paredes added one. 

The Bulldogs fought their way back, scoring four unanswered to tie things up at 7-7 with 1:47 left in the third. D'Angelo, though, responded with back-to-back scores and Togan Ozbek added another to put Fullerton up 10-7. Redlands scored two more but it wasn't enough, as the Titans held on for the 10-9 win. 

Titans 13, Biola 8 

D'Angelo posted another strong performance against the Eagles, securing a career-high seven points with four assists and three goals. Ozbek also scored three goals to go with an assist while Alec Isaacman notched three assists and a goal. 

Biola scored the match's first two goals before Julian Nichols, Hernandez and Ethan Cooney scored to put the Titans up 3-2. Fullerton extended its lead, 8-5, at the break with goals from Aaron Ayala, Ozbek and D'Angelo. 

Bende Aubeli and D'Angelo scored to give the Titans an 11-6 lead midway through the fourth. Ozbek scored another two goals as Fullerton came away with the 13-8 win. 

The Titans remain home to take on Loyola Marymount on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 6:00 p.m. PT.
