DAVIS, Calif . - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team lost 2-1 on the road at UC Davis on Thursday at the Aggie Soccer Field.
The Titans moved to 2-7-2 overall for the season and 0-1-1 in Big West Conference play. The Aggies moved to 8-3 (1-1-0 BWC) for the season. Â
The Titans started the game aggressively after having a a shot blocked and earning two corner kicks. Â
Kaylee Noble combined with
Talei Moodie after the Titans corner kick to put the Titans on top 1-0 in the seventh minute.Â
UC Davis found an equalizer in the 22nd minute after Ranson made a save on a shot by Sarah Canavan and Genavieve Fontes scored the putback.
The teams went into the halftime break tied 1-1 with the Aggies outshooting the Titans 10-to-5 for the half. Â
The Titans once again came out of the second half aggressively with
Talei Moodie forcing a save in the 47th minute.  For the game, the Aggies outshot the Titans 16-to-12 with both sides having seven shots on goal.  The Titans had 8 corner kicks to the Aggies 5 corner kicks.
The Aggies took the 2-1 lead in the 68th minute after Abella Hunter scored after a UC Davis throw in.
The Titans had to play the down a man the final eight minutes after
Jenae Perez was issued a second yellow card for the game.  The Titans earned a corner kick in the 88th minute.  However,
Shannon Nettekoven couldn't get her shot on frame for the equalizer.
After being on the road for their first two conference games, the Titans will be back home at Titan Stadium for their next two games. The Titans will take on Cal Poly on Sunday at 2 PM in their conference home opener at Titan Stadium. Kick-off is set for 2:00 PM
NOTES: Ranson made five saves for the game and is now tied for second place all-time in the record book with 245 saves.  She tied Lindsey Maricic (2010-2013) who made 245 career saves.  Next up on the list is the all-time saves leader, Karen Bardsley (2002-2006) with 312 saves.
