Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball fell to UC Irvine (7-5) in four sets (23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-14). The Titans dropped their first conference game, making their record 4-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Ameena Campbell got the Titans an early 5-1 lead in the first set with two kills. The Titans held the lead for most of the first set with Bianca Martinez leading the way.

Martinez recorded four kills in the first set and 12 total attacks. Lolo Fonua smashed three kills in the set to help maintain the Titans lead in the set. The Titans faced their first deficit to the Anteaters in the first set at 21-20. The Titans fell in the first set by a score of 25-23.

In the second set, the Titans overcame a 2-0 start by the Anteaters with a 7-0 run. Lyla Traylor had two aces during the Titans surge. Fonua added six more kills to her total in the set. The Anteaters cut the deficit to as low as 5. The Titans never gave up the lead in the second set. Tying the match at one set a piece. 

The Titans went down early in the third set, Campbell helped cut the lead to 8-4 with a kill set up by Traylor. The Anteaters maintained the lead out of the timeout early in the set. The Titans rallied in the middle of the set with a Ryleigh Garis assist to Campbell. Irvine refused to give up the lead and the Titans lost the set 25-15.

The Titans started the fourth set with a quick 3-1 advantage with the help of a Garis assist and ace. The Anteaters would fight back to regain the lead early in the fourth set. Ketesia Hall had a block to cut the Irvine lead down to one. The Titans kept this one close with the help of Campbell and Traylor. However, they'd lose the final set by a score of 25-14.

The Titans travel to the University of Hawai'i for their first conference road game of the season. Hawai'i stands 6-4 on the season ahead of their first conference matchup against UC Irvine on Friday night.
