Titans Draw with CSUN to Open Big West Play

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team opened up Big West play with a 1-1 draw at CSUN at Matador Soccer Field on Sunday night.

The Titans (2-6-2, 0-0-1 BWC) had to play from behind again after giving up a goal in the 15th minute.  The Matadors had a 8-3 shot advantage in the first half as the Titans struggled to connect in the final third.

In the second half, the Titans thoroughly outplayed the Matadors for almost the entire half.  The Titans outshot the Matadors 14-to-1 in the second half and 17-to-9 for the game. They also had seven corners to the Matadors and had 10 corner kicks to the Matadors 2 corner kicks.  

After a couple chances from Sail Bozinovic, Talei Moodie, and Kaylee Noble, the Titans finally found the breakthrough goal in the 75th minute.  Sail Bozinovic played a ball down to Kaylee Noble down the right side. Noble sent in a cross low to McGill who one timed her shot past the CSUN keeper to give the Titans the equalizer.



The goal didn't stop the Titans momentum as they continued to push for a game winner in the final 15 minutes.  Moodie, McGill, and Isabella Cruz forced saves from the CSUN keeper but weren't able to push across another goal for the Titans.

The Titans will remain on the road as they head to UC Davis on Thursday to take on the Aggies.  The Aggies are coming a 2-1 loss to the University of Hawai'i last Thursday. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. and there will only be live stats for the game and no video stream.
