RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Marco Perez and Nanette Novak paced the Cal State Fullerton men's and women's cross country teams with personal-best times Saturday morning at the UC Riverside Invitational.Â
Marco Perez led the Titans' men's team, clocking a personal-best 23:49.8 in the 8k and finishing 14th individually. Nathaniel Avila ran a PR of 24:14.9 to place 47th and Talman Young placed 52nd with a personal-best 24:17.6. Jaden Wiley (24:32.2), Jonathan Pfeiffer (24:36.3), Logan Harris (24:45.5) and Justin Singer (24:51.5) rounded out Fullerton's scoring runners.Â
As a team, the Titan men placed eighth overall with 238 total points.Â
Nanette Novak led the way for Fullerton's women's squad with a personal-best time of 20:51.3 in the 6k. Bella Smith followed with a PR mark of 21:03.0 and a 52nd place finish while Ashlynn Viramontes placed 66th with a personal-best 21:14.0. Shandy Moore (21:40.9), Sophia Ebiner (21:54.8), Destiny Lopez (21:57.0) and Natalie Maahs also each ran under 22 minutes for the Titans and rounded out the team's scoring finishers.Â
The Titan women placed 14th overall with 366 points.Â
Up next, the Titans compete at the Bill Dellinger Invite in Springfield, Oregon, on Oct. 11.Â
