Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Fullerton and Gonzaga End in 1-1 Draw

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer and Gonzaga ended in a 1-1 draw Wednesday night at Titan Stadium. With the draw, the Titans are now 2-3-3 on the season.

After a slow start to the season, the Titans have gone on a five-game unbeaten streak going back to their win over Utah Tech on Sept. 1.

The two teams went into the locker room at halftime scoreless, however, both teams had their share of quality chances. Each team recorded nine shots in the first half for a total of 18 shots.

Gonzaga broke the scoreless tie in the 52nd minute of action on an Ian Silva penalty kick. The Bulldogs received a PK following a foul inside the Titans 18-yard box.

Just over 10 minutes later, Roberto Ordonez tied the game at 1-1 in the 62nd minute on an assist from Fernando Valenzuela. Ordonez leads the team with 14 points on the year with four goals and six assists, both of which lead the team.

The Titans have shown their resilience over the last three games, following behind in each game before coming back to earn a draw.

Fullerton had a great opportunity to take the lead in the 64th minute as Sulaiman Bah put a perfect ball into the center of the box for Ordonez who missed just wide of the net.

Brandon Limes had another strong game in net for the Titans, recording five saves all on quality scoring opportunities from Gonzaga.

The Titans are back on the road Sunday evening to take on another ranked opponent in No. 15 San Diego. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PT.
