Titans Score Two Goals in Final Two Minutes to Earn a Draw Against LMU

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer scored two goals in just over two minutes of action to earn a 2-2 draw against LMU Friday night at Titan Stadium. The Titans are now 2-3-1 on the year.

Logan Mahoney started the comeback for the Titans, scoring his first collegiate goal in the 88th minute off a corner kick from Roberto Ordonez. Mahoney scored his first collegiate goal in just his third appearance of the season.

In the 89th minute, Sulaiman Bah drew a penalty in the 18-yard box to give Fullerton a penalty kick to tie the game. The sure-footed Ordonez stepped to the ball and had his shot stopped by the LMU goalkeeper, however, he quickly followed his shot and put the rebound in the back of the net to tie the game.

Ordonez leads the team with 10 points this season on two goals and six assists. The senior's six assists is tied for the most in the nation.

The two teams played a rather slow first half with neither team creating strong scoring chances. LMU had four shots in the opening 45 minutes while Fullerton had just one.

The pace picked up in the second half as the two teams combined for 20 shots with Fullerton recording 13 of them. However, LMU broke the scoreless tie in the 68th minute of action. The Lions added to the lead in the 78th minute to take a 2-0 lead late in the game before the Titans came back to earn a draw.

Fullerton is back on the road this weekend as it heads to Arizona to take on Grand Canyon Sunday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT.
