WSOC Picked Second, Raibon and Ranson Garner Preseason All-Conference Honors

IRVINE, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team was picked to finish second in the Big West Conference Preseason Coaches poll it was announced on Monday The league also announced the Coaches Preseason All-Big West team with Junior defender Kaylin Raibon and Junior Goalkeeper Isaac Ranson representing the Titans.

Raibon is coming off the season where she was named ot the All-Big West First Team.  She led the Titans with 12 points on five goals and two assists.  Ranson is coming off a season where they were named the Big West Goalkeeper of the Year, the sixth individual in program history to garner that honor.  

The Titans, who last year won the regular season conference championship and were knocked out in the semi-final round against UC Irvine in the Big West Championship, tallied 86 votes in 2nd place and received three first-place vote. Long Beach State who finished in fourth place in the regular season and eliminated in the Big West Championship first round were picked to finish in 1st place with 91 points and six first place votes.  Cal Poly were picked to finish in a tie with the Titans for second place with 86 votes, although they received one less first-place vote than the Titans.  The UC Irvine Anteaters who came in sixth place in the regular and eventual Big West Tournament champions were picked to finish fourth with 76 points.

The coaches selected 11 players representing ten teams to the 2024 preseason All-Big West Women's Soccer Coaches Preseason Team. The team consists of one graduate student, six seniors, three juniors and one sophomores. Cal Poly, Long Beach State, UC Irvine, and Cal State Fullerton each had multiple representatives named to the team.  UC Davis, Hawai'i, UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Diego each had one representative named to the team.

Last year, Kaylin Raibon and Makenna McGill were named to the All-Big West preseason team.  Both of them were named to the All-Big West Team in 2023.

The Titans open up the 2024 season by hosting the University of San Diego on Thursday, August 15th at 7:00 p.m..
