FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball lost the rubber match to UC Irvine by a final score of 18-4 Sunday afternoon at Goodwin Field. The Titans are now 16-35 and 7-20 in Big West play. 

UC Irvine jumped ahead early, scoring one run in the top of the first inning. Fullerton responded with one run in the home half of the inning on a sacrifice fly by Colby Wallace. 

The Anteaters pulled away in the fifth with a five-run inning on four hits to take a 6-1 lead. UCI extended its lead to 7-1 in the third inning. 

The Titans four runs were scattered across the first, third, fourth and fifth inning. Fullerton had just five hits in the game while giving up a season-high 25 hits. 

Fullerton wraps up the 2024 season with a three-game Big West series next weekend at Hawaii. Game one of the series is set for Thursday night at 9:35 p.m. PT.
