FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 game against No .53 UC Santa Barbara on Saturday morning at the Titan Courts.

The Titans moved to 12-8 overall for the season and 4-4 in Big West play.  

It came down to the final match in play in No. 5 singles with the score tied 3-3 but Carla Pacot was able to best Milena Gevorgyan 6-2, 6-4 to secure the match for the Gauchos. 

For the second game in a row, the Titans had to play from behind after dropping the double points to UCSB.  The Titans lost in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles both with the score 6-2.  After yesterday's slugfest in singles that saw five of the six matches go to three sets, all the singles matches on Saturday were decided in two sets. 

The Gauchos jumped to a 3-0 lead in the match after winning No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

The Titans came storming back to tie the match after Mariia Nikitash won her No. 6 singles match 6-2, 6-1. Natalie Dufffy won her No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-3. Seha Yu won her No. 4 singles match 6-4, 6-2.  However, in the final match in play, the Gauchos won in straight sets to take the match against the Titans.  

The Titans will close out the final week of the regular season next week with three matches.  They will take on Westcliff on Wednesday at 1:30 PM, Pomona-Pitzer on Friday at 3 PM, and UC Irvine on Sunday at 11 AM.
