FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Baseball is well represented on MLB Opening Day with seven Titans on MLB rosters along with four coaches. 

Tanner Bibee is entering his first full season with the Cleveland Guardians after a successful rookie season. Bibee was called up to the big league roster on April 26, 2023 and went on to finish second in AL Rookie of the Year voting. 

After two seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, Matt Chapman signed with the San Francisco Giants in the offseason as a free agent. Chapman is in his eighth year in the MLB. 

J.D. Davis stayed in Northern California after signing with the Oakland A's in the offseason. Davis spent the last two seasons with the San Francisco Giants and is entering his eighth season in the major league. 

Following a midseason trade to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2023, Chris Devenski is set for his first full season with the club. In nine appearances with the Rays a year ago, Devenski had a 2.08 ERA. Devenski is entering his ninth season in the MLB. 

Dylan Floro enters the 2024 season with the Washington Nationals after signing with the team this offseason. Floro spent last season with the Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins and is entering his ninth year in the MLB. 

In 2023, Michael Lorenzen became the first Titan to throw a no hitter in the MLB, doing so with the Philadelphia Phillies. Lorenzen is now a member of the reigning World Series Champion, Texas Rangers. The right-handed reliever is entering his 10th season in the MLB. 

After one season with the Boston Red Sox, Justin Turner signed a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays in the offseason. Turner hit .276 a year ago with 23 home runs and a career-high 96 RBI in his 16th season. 

Mike Harkey, P.J. Pilittere and Matt Wise represent the Titans on MLB coaching staffs. Harkey serves as the bullpen coach for the New York Yankees where he has been since 2016. Pilittere is in his second season as the assistant hitting coach with the Colorado Rockies. After serving as the pitching coach for the Los Angeles Angels in 2023, Wise made a move to the Chicago White Sox where he will serve as their bullpen coach. 

Mark Kotsay is entering his third season as the manager of the Oakland Athletics. Kotsay, a College World Series Champion at Cal State Fullerton in 1995, was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.
