LOS ANGELES — Reyte Rash and Alyssa Heinlein won the men's and women's 400H, respectively, Saturday to highlight the Cal State Fullerton outdoor track and field team's day two showing at the Johnson/Joyner-Kersee Invite.Â
Rash won the men's 400H after clocking a 52.13, with teammate Andrew Aguilar following in second with a 52.90. Donovan Garcia completed the Titan podium sweep in the event, finishing third with a 53.37. Zachary Schroeder placed fifth with a time of 58.33.Â
Heinlein finished first in the women's 400H, clocking a time of 1:01.38. Teammate Mia Reid placed third with a 1:02.74 while Ashleigh Christy took fifth with a 1:06.35.Â
Fullerton notched a series of additional podium finishes on the second and final day of competition at UCLA, including the women's 4x100m relay team. The squad, composed of Rayann Booker, Trinity Barnett, Tayla Brunger and Aryianna Faircloth, placed third with a 46.20.Â
Amira Hawkins finished third in the women's 100H after posting a time of 14.60. Faith Jones placed fifth with a 14.83. Dylan Beveridge earned bronze in the women's pole vault after clearing a height of 3.74m.Â
In the men's shot put, Hawkin Miller also earned bronze for throwing a mark of 15.76m. Jeffery Morris finished second in the men's high jump after clearing a 1.96m.Â
The Titans featured a strong showing in the men's 400m, led by Isaiah Emerson. Emerson took fourth in the event with a 46.94. Chris Goode followed close behind with a time of 47.13 to place fifth. Ian Dossman and Parker Harrison finished ninth and tenth, respectively.Â
Five different Titans finished in the top-10 of the women's 400m. Arionn Livingston placed fifth in the event with a 54.87 and Nancy Dematte took sixth with a 56.23. Tayla Brunger followed in seventh with a 56.97, while Faircloth took eighth with a 57.34. Alero Soaris followed in ninth place, running a 57.41.Â
Livingston placed fourth in the women's 200m with a 24.77, while Soaris took sixth with a 25.37. In the men's 200m, Emerson finished fifth after posting a time of 21.60. Dominic Gates followed in seventh with a 21.64.Â
Justice Mephors led the Titans in the men's discus, throwing a 48.03m. Jocelyn Alexander paced the Fullerton women's discus with a 41.68m. Evalen Garcia finished fourth in the women's shot put with a 13.70m. In the women's high jump, Carissa Martinez placed sixth with a clearance of 1.57m.Â
Up next, Fullerton travels to compete in the Texas Relays next week, Mar. 27-30, in Austin. The Titans will have additional athletes competing at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, Mar. 28-30 and at the Stanford Invitational Mar. 29-30.
