LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team bounced back from their first loss of the season by defeating UC San Diego 4-2 on Monday to start Big West action. 

The Titans had to play from behind after dropping the doubles point.  No. 1 Natalie Duffy and Josie Usereau defeated their opponents but the Titans lost in No. 2 and No. 3 pairings lost their matches.

In singles, the Titans were able to sweep the first four spots to secure the win over the Tritons.  No. 1 Josie Usereau was the first to vanquish her opponent and only dropped two games against Kelly Leung after defeating her 6-0, 6-2.  No. 3 Sein Myoung also only dropped two games after fefeating Grace Gamal 6-1, 6-1.  No. 2 Natalie Duffy was the third Titan to finish after defeating Ella Pachl 6-3, 6-3.  Seha Yu secured the match point after defeating Katelyn Vu 6-3, 6-3.  In  No. 5 singles, Kaytlin Taylor was defeated by Sophia Pearson 6-2, 6-3.  No. 6. singles between Mariia Nikitash and Naomi Nguyen was abandoned due to rain. 

The Titans game against the University of San Diego set for Tuesday has been postponed for the second time due to inclement weather.  The Titans instead will play their match on Friday at home against San Jose State.
