FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team lost against the Fresno State Bulldogs 4-3 on Friday at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

The Titans moved to 3-1 overall for the season. 

The Titans had to start the match from behind after dropping the doubles point.  The No.1 pairing of Natalie Duffy/Josie Usereau lost to Misaki Kobayashi/Matilde Magrini 6-2. The No. 3 pairing of Kaytlin Taylor/Seha Yu lost to Charlotte Gisclon/Marina Vyshkina 6-4.

The Titans however were able to respond in singles to make it a close match.  Kaytlin Taylor won her No. 5 singles match 6-1,6-2 over Hannah Pieper to make the score 1-1. Fresno State regained the lead (2-1) after Carolina Piferi defeated Sein Myoung 6-2, 6-5 in No. 3 singles. In No. 6 singles, Mariia Nikitash defeated Eliza DUnbar 6-3, 6-4 to make the match 2-2. Fresno State regained the lead 3-2 after Matilde Magrini defeated Natalie Duffy 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in No. 1 singles. Josie Usereau tied it at 3-3 overall after defeating Misaki Kobayashi 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 in No. 2 singles. Ultimately it came down to the final match in No. 4 singles where Mariya Vyshkina outlasted Seha Yu 1-6, 6-3, 7-5
