FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball fell in four sets (17-25, 18-25, 25-20, 14-25) to UC San Diego on Saturday night. 

The Tritons started off the game with a 5-1 early lead. Ketesia Hall grabbed a kill to cut the Tritons lead to two. Laura Williams had a block in the middle of the set to cut the Tritons lead before Aubrey Beaver found two kills in the set. The Titans dropped the first set to the Triton, 17-25. 

Lyla Traylor kicked off the second set with a kill to give the Titans an edge, while Beaver kept the squad in the game with a block that tied the set at 3-3. Bianca Martinez got in on the block party to cut the Tritons lead to 8-6. Fullerton fought through the second set with 11 kills and three blocks before falling 18-25. 

The Tritons started the 3rd set with a 5-1 lead before the Titans cut the lead to 8-7 with the help of Traylor and Beaver. A Garis ace knotted the game up at 8-8, kick-starting a 8-1 scoring run for the Titans. Up 11-8, the Titans extended their lead to 15-9 with the help of back-to-back points by Martinez and Traylor. Williams struck two aces in a row to give the Titans a 19-13 lead. The Tritons went on a run to cut the Titans lead to two at 21-19, but the Titans ultimately forced a fourth set with a 25-20 victory in the third.  

The Titans started off the fourth set in a 5-2 deficit. Williams got the Titans going with a big kill to bring the score within two. Martinez gave the Titans some momentum with a kill to bring the Tritons lead down to eight. The Titans fell in the fourth set by a score of 14-25. 

The Titans travel to San Luis Obispo for their next game at 6:00 p.m. on Friday night.
