FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball fell in straight sets to Long Beach State (13-25, 11-25, 11-25) for the second time this season on Friday night.Â
The Titans took the first point of the match on a kill by
Lyla Traylor. This marked Traylor's team-leading 205th kill of the season.
Ketesia Hall gave the Titans a 3-1 lead on a service ace before Long Beach State found two separate 4-0 scoring runs to take a 13-6 lead over the Titans. Fullerton dropped the first set, 25-13, despite posting six kills and two blocks.Â
Hall put the Titans on the board in the second set, 1-0, with a kill before The Beach quickly tied it up at 1-1 with a kill of their own. Eight attacking errors and a service error outweighed the Titans eight kills and one service ace, allowing them to fall to Long Beach State, 25-11.Â
Fullerton started on top for the third set in a row before dropping the third set to Long Beach State, 25-11. Traylor gave the Titans a 5-3 lead after smashing her seventh kill of the match in front of The Beach's defender. As a team, the Titans found six kills on 30 attempts, while making nine attacking errors and three service errors.Â
The Titans return to action in Titan Gym on Saturday, Nov. 9 against the Tritons of UC San Diego at 4:00 p.m.
