LOS ANGELES – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball fell to UCLA Friday night at Pauley Pavilion by a final score of 80-47. The Titans drop to 1-5 on the season following the loss.Â
The team played UCLA tough early in the first half. After falling behind by 10 points midway through the first half, the Titans pulled within five following back-to-back baskets by Keith Richard which included a three-pointer to make it a 18-13 game.Â
Richard led the Titans with nine points in the first half on 4-of-6 shooting while adding an assist and grabbing two boards.Â
UCLA started to pull away near the end of the first half, going into the locker room with a 39-25 lead.Â
The Bruins went on a 9-0 run to open the second half before a Davis Bynum three-pointer stopped the run to make it a 48-30 game with 15:00 minutes remaining in the game.Â
Bynum nearly had his first career double-double with a tied for team-high 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds in 20 minutes of action.Â
Turnovers plagued the Titans throughout the game, recording a season-high 21 in the game.Â
Fullerton looks to bounce back Tuesday as the team heads to Malibu to take on Pepperdine. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
