WAIPAHU, Hawai'i - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team were defeated 1-0 against the University of Hawai'i on Sunday at the Waipio Soccer Complex.

The Titans fell to 4-8-2 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.  The Titans are tied for third with seven points.  Hawai'i improved to 8-6 overall and a perfect 4-0 to start Big West play and are second with 12 points behind UCSB who leads the conference with 13 points. For the Titans, this was their first loss in a Big West match vs Hawai'i where they had previously been 10-0-1 against as conference foes.

In the first half, it was a pretty even match with Hawai'i outshooting the Titans 5-to-4 for the period.  Isabella Contreras had the only shot on goal in the first half.

The Rainbow Wahine scored the only goal of the game in the second half in the 57th minute from Amber Gilbert.

The Titans fired off a couple shots after the goal but only had one shot on target from Taya Townsell in the 67th minute to force a second save from Kennedy Justin.

The Titans were outshot 13-to-8 for the game and Hawai'i had one more corner kick (6-to-5). 

The Titans will have next Thursday off and return to action next Sunday against the current league leaders, UC Santa Barbara at home.  Kick-off is set for 5:00 PM at Titan Stadium.
