FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton men's water polo team lost 19-12 at home against the No. 10 UC Davis Aggies at the Titans Aquatic Center on Friday night.
The Titans fell to 11-13 overall and 0-3 in Big West play. Â
Alec Isaacman and
Julian Nichols led the Titans with three goals a piece as they both picked up hat tricks for the game. Â
Nico D'Angelo,
Togan Ozbek, and
Aaron Ayala all had braces in the game. D'Angelo and Ozbek tallied five points after each picking up three assists.
The Titans blitzed UC Davis early as
Nico D'Angelo scored the first goal of the game.
After Davis scored to make it 1-1,
Togan Ozbek and
Aaron Ayala scored to make it a 3-1 game for the Titans.
Alec Isaacman scored the final two goals of the period to give the Titans a 5-2 lead after the first quarter.
The Aggies scored the first two goals of the second quarter to cut the lead to 5-4. Â
Alec Isaacman picked up his hat trick on a beautiful spinning goal to restore a 6-4 lead.Â
However, the Aggies outscored the Titans 5-to-1 during the final three minutes of the period to take a 9-7 lead at halftime.
Nico D'Angelo started the third quarter off with a goal to make it a 9-8 game. Â However, the Aggies scored the next five goals of the period to lead 14-8 after three.Â
The Aggies outscored the Titans 5-4 in the fourth quarter to pick up the 19-12 win. Â
Julian Nichols scored all three of his goals in the fourth quarter. After his three goals today, Nichols is at 94 goals for his career with the Titans.
The Titans will take on No. 7 Pepperdine on Saturday at home. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
