FULLERTON, Calif. — Trista Michael paced the Cal State Fullerton women's cross country team to a third place finish at the John Elders Titan Classic on Friday night. 

The women's cross country squad finished the 5k race third out of seven teams with 95 points. 

Trista Michael (19:08.3) led the women with a 15th place finish, while Kalei Aoki-Chance followed immediately behind with a 19:08.4 5k finish. Cassandra Santillano (19:38.9) placed 28th and Cassandra Apahidean took 30th place after crossing the finish line in 19:47.5. Alexandra Cilley (21:46.8) took 54th and Rosie Nowlin rounded out the Titan scoring finishers with a 23:01.7 5k run time. 

As a team, the Titan men did not place. Carlos Maradiaga completed the 8k race in 7th place after crossing the finish line in 24:53.0. Sean Lacey (25:17.1) and Matthew Kubler (25:19.4) finished in the top 20 runners. Diego Mejia took 35th place, finishing out the Titan runners with a 26:15.6 8k run time. 

The Titans are set to participate in BIg West Cross Country Championships hosted by UC Riverside on Nov. 2, at the Agriculture Operations Cross Country Course. The event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with the men's 8k race and will conclude with the women's 6k at 9:15 a.m.
