RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer overcame a two-goal first half deficit to earn a 3-3 draw at UC Riverside Wednesday night. The Titans are now 6-4-5 on the year and 2-1-2 in Big West play.Â
Fullerton gave up an early goal as UC Riverside scored in the fifth minute of action to take a 1-0 lead. The Highlanders added to their lead in the 32nd minute to take a 2-0 lead.Â
The Titans came storming back in the final minutes of the first half, scoring in the 41st minute on a goal by Nick Relerford to cut the deficit to 2-1.Â
Moments later, Fitz Williams scored on a brilliant header off a corner kick in the 45th minute to tie the game at 2-2 just before the half.Â
The Titans struck first in the second half to take a 3-2 lead, scoring on an unbelievable free-kick from Fernando Valenzuela. UC Riverside answered to tie the game in the 69th minute of play.Â
Fullerton is back at home Saturday night to take on Cal Poly at Titan Stadium at 7:00 p.m. PT.
