FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Baseball defeated the Alumni team by a final score of 7-2 Saturday afternoon at Goodwin Field in the annual alumni game.Â
As it does every year, the annual alumni game had a tremendous turnout with Titans from every decade since the program's inception in 1965, in attendance at Goodwin Field.Â
The 2024 Titans jumped out to a lead in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Nico Regino to drive in Colby Wallace. The Titans scored two more runs later in the inning on an outfield flyball that was last in the sun.Â
The alumni got on the board in the top of the third inning on an RBI double by Zach Lew to bring home Hunter Cullen.Â
Freshman Alijah Ramos got in on the action in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly to score Luke Mistone and put the Titans up 5-1.Â
The alumni answered right back in the top half of the eighth on another RBI double by Lew, this time bringing home Austin Schell from second base.Â
In the home half of the eighth Max Ortega and Jack Haley drove in a pair of runs to put the Titans up 7-2.Â
The Titans now turn their attention to opening weekend when the team heads to Northern California for a three-game series against Stanford, Feb. 16-18.
