FULLERTON, Calif. ā Cal State Fullerton men's water polo dropped both games on Day Two of the Titan Invitational after a successful Day One run. The Titans fell to Biola University (14-12) before concluding the tournament with a 13-6 loss to Claremont-M-S. Titans stand at 9-7 on the season.Ā

The Titans grabbed a 3-0 lead in the game's first three minutes with the help of Zach Ewing,
Alec Isaacman, and
Julian Nichols. At the end of the first quarter, Fullerton led 3-2.

Ethan Cooley delivered a goal to even the score 4-4 against the Eagles to start the second quarter. Nichols evened the score again to put the Titans ahead with a penalty shot. Hernandez took another penalty shot to retake the lead with 1:35 left on the clock. The Titans and Eagles were all tied up at 6-6 at halftime.Ā

With the Eagles continuing to apply pressure, Hernandez scored on a pass from Hatch for a 7-6 lead after the break. After a collection of goals scored by the Eagles, Hernandez once again nets a ballĀ to shorten Biola's lead to 11-9.Ā
Nichols and
Nico D'Angelo helped the Titans stay within two goals with little over a minute left in regulation. Fullerton called for a timeout to regroup, but it was not enough to secure the win.Ā

The Titans scored their first goal on a five-meter-attempt by
Jacob Hatch after letting Claremont jump to a 6-0 leadĀ in the second quarter.
Offensive production was slow from the Fullerton arms who combined for a .200 shooting percentage (6x30).Ā
Dominic Hernandez led the Titans on the offensive front with three goals and an assist.
Bende Aubeli and
Zack Ewing contributed the other two goals for the Titans.Ā
After eight minutes of play,
Seth Zarn (8 G, 3) SV) replaced Henderson (5 G, 1 SV) in the goal.Ā
The Titans continue their home standĀ on Thursday, Sept. 28 against Mount St. Mary's at 7 p.m.Ā
