Kadono Saves PK in Final Seconds to Secure Win Over Air Force

Men's soccer defeated Air Force, 2-1, Thursday night at Titan Stadium

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer defeated Air Force by a final score of 2-1 Thursday night at Titan Stadium. With the win the Titans improve to 3-2-2 on the year.

The match came down to the final seconds as Air Force earned a penalty kick with two seconds left on the clock. Tetsuya Kadono came up big for the Titans in net, stopping the penalty kick to earn Fullerton the 2-1 win.

The Titans overcame adversity throughout the match, battling back from a 1-0 deficit in the seventh minute of action.

After giving up the opening goal, Fullerton quickly responded with the equalizer in the 11th minute on a goal from Roberto Ordonez. Ordonez scored off a beautifully run counter-attack from the Titans started in their own half. Mario Carlos and Erick Serrano assisted on the goal.

Fullerton scored the go-ahead goal in the 78th minute of action on a set-piece finished by center-back Mason Lamb for his second goal in a Titan uniform. Ordonez sent a great ball into the 18-yard box that Jalen Belong touched for Lamb to bury in the back of the net.

As they have for much of the season, the Titans dominated the shot chart against Air Force, out-shooting the Falcons 17-9. Of the Titans 17 shots, seven of them were on goal while Air Force had five shots on goal.

The Titans look to carry their momentum from tonight's win into Sunday's match against UCLA at Titan Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PT.
