Titans Drop Road Game at No.6 USC

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's basketball team lost 93-44 against the USC Trojans on Monday night at the Galen Center.

The Titans (4-5) couldn't get the offense going against the Trojans who shot 50% from the field with 16 three-point baskets made.  The Titans shot just 30.5% from the field. Kathryn Neff led the Titans with 14 points including two three-point baskets.  Neff had a 1 block and an assist to go along with the effort. The Trojans had five players in double figures led by Juju Watkins who had 23 points.

The Titans scored the first basket of the game after Hope Hassmann found Ashlee Lewis for a layup but the Trojans would go on a 20-0 run before Nimmo nailed a three-pointer to make it a 20-5 game before the end of the first quarter.
 

In the second quarter, the Trojans outscored the Titans 30-to-15.  Emily Strachan scored five of the Titans 15 points in the second quarter.
 

At the half, the Titans were trailing 50-to-20.  The Titans were shooting 29% from the field while the Trojans were shooting 54.5 (18-for-33) and 9-for-13 from beyond the arc.

The Titans played their best basketball in the third period as the Trojans only outscored the Titans 20-to-16 for the quarter.  In the final period, USC out scored the Titans 23-to-8. Kathryn Neff scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half.
 

After missing the start of the season, All-Big West Preseason Coaches Team member Fujika Nimmo made her season debut.  Nimmo had 3 points and 1 rebound in 11 minutes of play.
 

The Titans will return home on Thursday, December 21st for their final non-conference game against Santa Clara.  Tip-off is set for 4:00 pm.
