WBB Inks Three Players for the 2024-25 Season

FULLERTON, Calif. –  Head coach Jeff Harada and the Cal State Fullerton women's basketball program have announced that they have signed three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the program for the 2024-25 academic year.

"I am really happy and excited with the group of young women who will be joining us next season." said Head Coach Jeff Harada.   "All three of them are very talented and highly competitive basketball players and will impact us in their own way as soon as they step foot on campus.  Off the court they embody everything we look for in a student-athlete and will be great additions to our team culture as well."

Saroiya "Cici" Ajomale
Guard/Forward | Las Vegas, Nev. | Centennial High School

Saroiya is on track to graduate from Centennial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was a three-year letter winner for the Bulldogs. She was named to the All-Conference first team her junior year and won academic letter awards in 2022 and 2023.  She is a two-time state champion with the Centennial Bulldogs.

Ajomale was born in Douglasville, Georgia to Damiond Phillips and Brandie James. She has two siblings, Georgia and Kenyon. She plans on pursuing a degree in psychology and strives to become a pediatric therapist in the future.

"I chose to attend Cal State Fullerton because I was intrigued by the competition inside the conference. I wanted to be near my family and in a state that was next to home." said Ajomale.

"Cici comes from one of the most successful and dominant high school programs on the West Coast and knows what it takes to win.  She has great size, length, athleticism and her ability to run the floor, rebound, block shots, post up and shoot the basketball allows her to impact the game in so many ways on both ends of the floor." said Head Coach Jeff Harada.

Layla Davis
Forward/Center | Lancaster, Calif. | Valley Christian School

Davis is on track to graduate from Valley Christian School in the spring of 2024 where she won a league championship with the Crusaders. She also competed for the Sports Academy Swish in the Nike EYBL league under Head Coach Russ Davis.

Davis was born in Lancaster, Calif. to Robin Delaney and Carol Davis. She plans on pursuing a degree in Biology because she wants to pursue a career in the medical field.

"I chose to come to Cal State Fullerton because I loved the environment and it felt like home as I stepped foot on campus." said Layla Davis.

"Layla is a very strong post player who is one of the best rebounders at her position.  She embraces contact and the physicality of the game that allows her to make a lot of plays in and around the paint.  She finishes well with both hands and will definitely add some toughness to our team." said Head Coach Jeff Harada

Maddy Tauro
Guard | Calabasas, Calif. | Calabasas High School

Tauro is on track to graduate from Calabasas High School in the spring of 2024. She played four years at the varsity level for the Coyotes.  She was named her team MVP her freshman and junior year.  She was named to the All-Conference First team her freshman through junior years.  She was also named to the All-Marmonte League First Team her freshman through junior year. She played club basketball for CBC in the Nike EYBL league under head coach Monica Hernandez.

Tauro was born in Woodland Hills, Calif. to Troy and Candace Tauro.  She has two siblings, Avery and Logan. She plans on pursuing a degree in kinesiology and would like to become a chiropractor.

"I chose to come to Cal State Fullerton because of the basketball program, the campus, the coaching staff, and the school's kinesiology program," said Tauro.

"Maddy is just a flat-out scorer who can put the ball in the basket from all 3 levels.  She's also a very willing and accurate passer who can create shots for her teammates.  With an ultra-competitive spirit and her non-stop motor, she has a chance to be another great guard for us." said Head Coach Jeff Harada.
