FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's basketball head coach Sammy Doucette announced the signings of seven new players for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

With just six players remaining from last season's roster, the Titans new head coach has been busy building up the roster for the new season.  Coach Doucette has added five players from the transfer portal, two freshman signings, along with two fall signings from the previous coaching staff.

Ashari Cassell
Guard | Eastvale, Calif. | Orange Coast College/Cal State La/Concordia

She graduated from Orange Lutheran HS in 2023 where shelped lead her team to the CIF Division 2AA Championship in 2022.  She played one year at OCC under Coach Doucette in 2024 where she won the 3C2A State Championship.  She was named the OEC Offensive Player of the Year and also earned first team All-3C2A State Honors and All-OEC First Team honors. She averaged 14.5 points , 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game for the Pirates.

She played one season at Cal State LA where she appeared in 28 games and averaged 2.3 points per game in 228 minutes played. She played eight games at Concordia University Irvine last season before suffering a season ending injury.  She was averaging 11.1 points per game and scored in double digits in four of the eight games.

"Ashari played for me at Orange Coast College and dominated that level. She is very fast and very strong and that will translate well at this level. Beyond her athletic abilities, Ashari is someone who is bought into me and what I'm trying to do at CSUF. She is a vocal leader and a lead by example type of kid and she is going to compete like no other. Can't wait to see how she does." said Doucette.



Alyssa Dreesen
Forward | Riverside, Calif. | Orange Coast College/Cal Poly Humboldt

She graduated from Martin Luther King HS in 2023. She played two seasons at Orange Coast College under Head Coach Sammy Doucette where won the 3C2A State Championship two years in a row.  She was named the 2025 Orange Empire Conference Player of the Year, First Team All State, First-Team All Orange Empire conference, and the 2024 Orange Empire Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and a National All-American Honorable Mention. She averaged 12.8 points per game along with 8.5 rebounds per game during her sophomore season at OCC. She redshirted during her one season at Cal Poly Humboldt.

"Similar to Ashari, Alyssa played for me at OCC. Alyssa is one of the most athletic players I've ever coached. She also has an insanely high ceiling. Her freshman to sophomore year at OCC were night and day different. She went from the Defensive Player Of the Year to the Conference Player Of the Year and nearly tripled her points per game average. She also is familiar with the culture we want to build at CSUF and has a tremendous work ethic." said Doucette.



Bernadette Carranza
Guard | Phoenix, Ariz. | Canyon View HS

She graduated from Canyon View High School in Waddell, Arizona in 2026.  She was the offensive player of the year her junior and senior year in the 5A Division.  She was named to the All-Conference first team her sophomore through senior year, the All-Region team her sophomore through senior year. She led her team to the 5A State Open Final Four in 2026 after two 5A State Champions in 2024 and 2025. She was named the AFUHSD Comeback player of the year and also earned AZ All-State Honorable Mention honors.

"Bette is a winner. She comes from a powerhouse program in Arizona, is used to being surrounded by high level division one talent, and she competes like crazy. She has great vision, and is proving to be one of our most consistent shooters. I'm excited to see her adjustment from high school to college. Since she is such a competitor, I know she will be up for the challenge!" said Doucette.



Shadel Ffrench
Forward | Glendale Community College

She graduated from Saint Monica Preparatory HS in 2024.  She went on to play two seasons at Glendale Community College.  She earned Co-MVP Honors, All-Western State Conference First Team Honors, and 3C2A All-State First Team honors while at Glendale. She averaged 12.0 points per game and 14.8 rebounds per game.  She set the school record for most rebounds in a game twice at Glendale.

"While I didn't personally coach Shadel at the JC level, I've coached against her for 2 years while she was at Glendale. She is another player with an extremely high ceiling. Her and Alyssa both have not been playing basketball for very long, and each one of them improves at an insane rate. I'm looking forward to Shadel running the floor hard and using her length to rebound like crazy and be a menace inside on defense." said Doucette.



Rhylee Beebe
Guard | Chehalis, Wash. | Adna HS

She graduated from Adna High School in 2026.  She played four years on the varsity basketball team at ADNA and also lettered in soccer and track and field.  Her team won the league three times, they also won three district titles, and led her team to a sixth place finish at state.

"Rhylee is known for how hard she competes and she desires to guard the opponent's top player. I'm looking forward to Rhylee continuing to bring her competitive spirit and work ethic everyday." said Doucette.



Alexis Price
Forward | Lynwood, Calif. | Irvine Valley College

Alexis spent the past two seasons playing for the Irvine Valley Lasers.  She was named to the All-Orange Empire First Team twice during her IVC career as well being selected as a 3C2A Second Team All-State selection last season Price led the Lasers to an Orange Empire Conference title as well as a 3C2A State Championship appearance.  She averaged 13.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game as a sophomore.  She scored in double figures in 23 of their 31 games.  As a freshman, she averaged 9.4 points per game ,7.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals. 

At Downey High School, Price was named to the All-Gateway League first team, two time All-Long Beach Press Telegram team, and a two time team defensive MVP and team co-mvp.

"Similar to Shadel, while I did not personally coach Alexis, I have coached against her in the same conference while I was at OCC. Her, Alyssa, and Shadel are what makes junior college players so special. Not only is Alexis a scorer and rebounder, but she is tough, plays with a chip on her shoulder, and wants to win. She can guard multiple positions and can post up smaller players. She comes from a winning program and will be a great addition to our competitive culture." said Doucette



Juliana Aragon
Guard | Bernallo, New Mexico | New Mexico Highlands University

Juliana spent three seasons at the New Mexico Highlands University in the NCAA Division II level.  She scored over 1,000 career points and had over 250 assists at New Mexico Highlands.  She finished in the top 10 in scoring, assists, steals, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage her junior year.  She averaged 16.2 points per game, 4.3 assists per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, and 1.8 steals per game. She graduated with a degree in exercise science.

She was a highly decorated player in high school in New Mexico as she was the Gatorade High School Player of the Year after her 2021-22 season.  She was twice named the 1A-4A Metro Player of the Year, three time District Player of the Year, two times Max Preps Region 6 Player of the Week.  She led the state of New Mexico in scoring and assists and reached over 2,000 career points at Bernalillo High School.  She was a three time All-State First Team.  She was named the 2021-22 Metro Female Athlete of the Year and the 2021-22 BHS Female Athlete of the Year.

"Juliana will bring more experience to our roster. She spent 3 seasons at New Mexico Highlands and proved to be a very efficient scorer and facilitator there. She comes from a basketball family which is apparent by her immense basketball IQ. I'm looking forward to seeing how her experience, shooting, and IQ will translate to this level." said Doucette.



These seven student-athletes joined the Titans along with their two previous fall signings Jennifer Hawkins and Anasia Wilcox.  Jennifer comes to the Titans from Paramount HS while Anasia joins the Titans from Paris Junior College.

The Titans will have a full roster this upcoming season as they also returned six players from last year's team in  Mimi Moon, Jana Falsdottir, Maxine Sutisna, Dylan Swindle, Nyemah King, and Talia Maxwell.
