LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team defeated the UC San Diego Tritons 1-0 on the road on Sunday afternoon at the Triton Soccer Stadium.

The Titans (5-4-7, 3-1-3) completed a six point week after Sunday's victory and Thursday's win over UC Irvine.  The Titans have gotten at least a point in six straight games since dropping their Big West opener.

The Titans got their lone goal of the game in the 43rd minute from freshman forward Aspen Whillock. Karla Rodriguez played a ball down the  left side to Laurie Ann Moise who sent in a cross into a box that Whillock was able to volley to the left post past the UC San Diego keeper for the only score in the game.

Whillock, a San Diego county native from nearby Carlsbad, was making just her 4th appearance of the season.

The Titans were fine with conceding possession to the Tritons as they had the better opportunities.  They outshot the Tritons 7-to-2 for the first half and 13-to-11 for the game.

The Titans had another opportunity in the second half to tack on another goal in the 61st minute.  Jaden Hall latched onto a through ball but saw her shot saved by Keara Fitzgerald.

The Titans defense dealt with the Tritons pressure without real difficulty.  Mia Ranson made five saves for the game including four in the second half.

The Titans currently top the table with 12 points however they have already played seven games.  Four teams have played six games and have one game in hand.  While another three teams have only played five games and have two games in hand.

The Titans will play again next on Sunday, October 15th when they host UC Davis.
