FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team won their third game in a row as they defeated the UC Davis Aggies 1-0 at home on Sunday afternoon inside Titan Stadium.
The Titans (6-4-7, 4-1-3 BWC) have posted three straight shutouts and have not allowed a goal for 294 minutes since UCSB's goal in the 66th minute on October 1st.
Makenna McGill scored her second career goal for the only goal of the game in the 30th minute.
Jenae Perez won a header and played it to
Kaylee Noble down the left flank. Noble dribbled it down to the endline into the box and was able to slot it to McGill who one timed the shot past the keeper.
The Titans outshot the Aggies 23-to-15 for the game and had 7 shots on goal to the Aggies 6 shots on goal attempts. The Titans had multiple chances to add an insurance goal in the second half but came up just short. They had a triple shot sequence in the 71st minute after
Aspen Whillock had a shot blocked.
Isabella Cruz's shot was saved by the keeper and
Karla Rodriguez's rebound attempt went wide of the frame.
A few minutes later
Kaitlin Taylor almost volleyed in a spectacular goal after
Jenae Perez sent a long and high lopping ball. Taylor one timed her shot but couldn't generate enough power to get it past the UC Davis keeper
Mia Ranson was stellar in net once again and made five saves for the game. Goldstein for UC Davis made six saves. Ranson picked up her sixth clean sheet of the season.
The Titans will play one more game at home in the regular season next Sunday against Long Beach State. The Titans and Beach will kick-off at 5 PM on Sunday, October 22nd.
