LA JOLLA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer defeated UC San Diego by a final score of 4-1 Wednesday night on the road. With the win the Titans improve to 9-2-2 on the year and 3-0 in Big West play.
The Titans have now won seven consecutive games and extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games.
Sulaiman Bah got the Titans on the board in the 20th minute on a shot from just outside the six-yard box. Erick Serrano recorded the assist on the goal.
Fullerton led 1-0 at halftime and pulled away in the second half with three goals.
Bah extended the Titans lead to 2-0 in the 62nd minute on a great pass from Roberto Ordonez. Bah ranks second on the team with six goals this season.
UC San Diego got back in the game in the 81st minute on an own goal by the Titans.
Fullerton quickly responded with a goal by Jorge Quintero in the 86th minute to all but seal the victory. Ordonez recorded the assist on the goal for his second of the game and Big West leading ninth of the season.
Quintero scored his second goal of the game in the 90th minute to put the Titans up 4-1. Freshman Fernando Valenzuela recorded his second assist of the season on the goal.
Fullerton looks to continue its winning-streak Saturday on the road against Cal State Bakersfield. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT.
