FULLERTON, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton men's and women's cross country boasted a strong showing at the John Elders Titan Classic, with Vicente Huerta and Amy Brown leading their respective squads.
Huerta paced the Titan men's squad with a time of 25:09.7 in the men's 8k, good for 19th place individually. Jonathan Pfeiffer ran a time of 25:30.4 to place 32nd while Nathan England followed with a 26:51.2 to finish 72nd. Matthew Kubler finished 87th after clocking a time of 27:25.
In the women's 5k, Amy Brown led the way for the Titans with a time of 18:58.4 to place 37th. Kalei Chance clocked a personal-best 19:06.6 while Cassandra Santillano took 83rd after running a 20:29.5.
The Titans now turn their attention to The Big West Championships, which will be hosted by Cal Poly and take place next Friday, Oct. 27, at Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo, Calif. The men's 8k will start at 8:30 a.m. PT followed by the women's 6k at 9:15 a.m. PT.
