FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer and UC Riverside ended in a 1-1 draw Wednesday night at Titan Stadium. The Titans are now 11-3-3 on the year and 5-1-1 in Big West play.Â
The Titans remain in first place in The Big West with 16 points. UC Santa Barbara is currently in second place with 13 points.Â
The two teams played a relatively equal first half, with the Titans creating the only quality chances on goal. One of the Titans chances came from Roberto Ordonez who had a highly contested look at goal from just outside the six-yard box but was sent wide of the net.
Fullerton out-shot UC Riverside six to four in the first 45 minutes while recording the only two shots on goal in the half.Â
The Titans ramped up their energy in the second half, quickly going on the attack looking for the go-ahead goal. Erick Serrano found that go-ahead goal in the 64th minute after a great steal that led to a one-on-one chance with the goalkeeper.Â
With time winding down in the match, UC Riverside drew a foul in Fullerton's half to set up a set piece. AJ Meade-Tatum scored on a header off the set piece in the 87th minute to tie the game at 1-1.Â
The Titans look to bounce back Sunday afternoon on the road at Cal Poly. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. PT.
